With the conflict in Israel dominating international headlines and tensions heightened across the globe, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) criticized President Joe Biden, accusing the Commander in Chief of effectively holding funds for Israel hostage by tying them to funding support for Ukraine’s defense against Russia.

In an official statement released Thursday, Blackburn describved Biden’s dilluted support in the Israel support package as “irresponsible.”

“Biden is sending a $100 billion emergency funding request to Congress, but only $10 billion of that is allocated for Israel,” Blackburn said. “There is an immediate responsibility on Congress to make sure Israel has what it needs to defend itself, and to hold that aid hostage by linking it with a myriad of other issues – including bailout for sanctuary cities and more money for Ukraine – is irresponsible. These separate funding requests should be considered as such.”
